Breakfast. At the indicated time, we will pick you up to start our tour. Enjoy the city of San José, where the first European-style double-decker bus in Costa Rica awaits you, offering the best panoramic views. A bilingual guide will explain the details of the main attractions, and an onboard waiter will invite you to enjoy a welcome cocktail. The tour stops at the most emblematic places in the city such as: La Sabana Park, Plaza de la Cultura, Art Museum, National Theater lobby, Gold Museum, National Monument, National Park, and Central Market where we will have time for shopping. Your cultural and historical experience will be complemented by a delicious typical lunch for an unforgettable cultural experience. At the end of the tour, return to the hotel. Accommodation.

DAY 03 - SAN JOSÉ (Poás Volcano and Doka Estate Coffee Tour + breakfast)

Leaving the city, you can see the contrast between urban life and the tranquility of rural life based on agricultural production, mainly coffee cultivation, although later we will also find fern, flower, and strawberry plantations, as well as dairy farms.

Upon arrival at the centennial Doka Estate Coffee Plantation, we will have a typical breakfast and then immediately begin the Coffee Tour. On this real coffee plantation, we will learn the ancient techniques used by experts to produce one of Costa Rica’s best coffees. After the visit, we will continue to Poás Volcano, where we can reach its main crater with additional trails to learn about the different ecosystems in this unique and protected national park. Breakfast at the hotel. On the way to Arenal Volcano, we will stop in the famous town of Sarchí, known as the cradle of Costa Rican artisans; recognized for its beautifully and colorfully decorated wooden ox carts. The trip will continue through plantations of various agricultural products, including pineapple farms, mango groves, ornamental plants, and cattle ranches until we reach the small town of La Fortuna; stopping to enjoy lunch in a cozy restaurant with a spectacular view of Arenal Volcano.Once in La Fortuna, you will be impressed by the imposing Arenal Volcano and its conical shape surrounded by abundant flora and fauna of the tropical rainforest.Relax at Baldí Hot Springs, one of the best thermal waters in the area, where you can enjoy the rejuvenating effects of the hot springs. End your day with a delicious buffet dinner and then return to San José. Accommodation.

Breakfast at the hotel. After a 1½-hour drive from San José to the Puntarenas pier, you will board a catamaran for an unforgettable trip to Tortuga Island. During your journey across the calm waters of the Gulf of Nicoya, there is always a chance to see dolphins, sea turtles, and water birds. Once on Tortuga Island, you can sunbathe on the beautiful white sand beaches, swim in the blue sea, or explore the trails.On the way back to Puntarenas, you can enjoy the incredible colors of the sunset. Don’t miss the opportunity to visit this paradise! Return to San José. Accommodation.

Breakfast. This colossus is the highest volcano in the territory at 3,432 meters (11,000 feet) above sea level, whose last eruptive phase occurred between 1963 and 1965 with strong gas and ash emissions perceived throughout the country. On a sunny and clear day, both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans can be seen. After visiting the volcano, we will descend to the city of Cartago, the former capital of Costa Rica established in 1563 by conquistador Juan Vázquez de Coronado, where we will stop at the Basilica of Our Lady of the Angels, a pilgrimage site for many faithful, a tradition since 1635.
